rotating hard disk
Instead there is a SSD (Solid State Disk) where the Windows XP based operating system and the Adveto ECDIS system is stored.
The main benefit is the tremendous increase in
MTBF Mean Time Between Failure.
Another benefit is, due to the low access-time in the SSD, that the ECDIS software and chart presentation runs much faster than on a conventional hard disk.
